My dream came true! I have always wanted to go to a field full of sunflowers! 🌻 🌻 🌻
The perfect place to go to see them in Japan is Sayo Nanko Sunflower Park in Sayo city in West Hyogo prefecture. An incredible 2 million sunflowers are planted by local farmers two months before in one location called Himawaribatake, also known as the ‘field of flowers’.
From mid July to early August the traditional Japanese landscape is transformed into a sea of bright yellow contrasted by the beautiful mountains.
Cost: ¥200 yen entry fee to the fields, Free for JHS Students and younger
Location: Approx. 20 minutes from Sayo. 232-1, Funakoshi, Sayo-cho, Hyogo
Accessible by car (There are available parking lots) and by JR train to JR Harima Tokuhisa station, then a 30 minute walk or taxi.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 8:30am –5:15pm, Closed Mondays.
