Saying Sayonara (Goodbye) to the Heisei Era and Hajimemashite (Nice to meet you) to the Reiwa Era! Today a new emperor ascended the throne in Japan, Emperor Naruhito, ending the 30 year reign of former emperor Akihito. In this week’s Japanese Calligraphy practice, we worked on the kanji for HEISEI 平成. I reflect on the changes in Japan and my hopes for the future!
