I’m not a green thumb. In the past any fruits I’ve tried to grow have always died. That is why I was so super sad about two and a half weeks ago when I accidentally snapped one of the stems of my first tomato plant in half! 🍅 🌱

I was on my way to work when it happened so I quickly googled on what to do to save it. I found a website that said to tie and tape the broken stems together to something sturdy but it warned there was no guarantee that it would work. Needless to say, I did not have high hopes especially since the leaves immediately began to wither down. I was mostly worried it would affect the rest of the plant. 🌱

To my pleasant surprise, about three to four days later the stem began to straighten up! There was even a small tomato bud sprouting out at the end the the leaf! It was a miracle! 🍅

Yesterday one of the tiny ripened tomato’s fell off the branch, ready to eat. 😋🥰☺️

When I first sowed these seeds, my intention was not necessarily to grow food to eat but more to learn about patience. However, with the restoration of the broken stem, I got a bonus lesson about having hope even when something seems to be broken beyond repair! Just as the seed grew beneath the surface (out of sight), the snapped stem was restored from within (out of sight).
